This 1908 American Double Eagle has a face value of $20. It is 0.9675 troy-ounce of fine gold. Issued from 1908 - 1933, the $20 Double Eagle features the St Gauden design under the "LIBERTY" heading. The reverse has the eagle in flight and the words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA TWENTY DOLLARS" it lacks the usual "IN GOD WE TRUST" motto on this coin. The lack of mint mark denotes the main mint in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
