Austrian Philharmonic Silver Coin

The Austrian Philharmonic silver coin, also known as Vienna Philharmonics or simply "Philharmonics". The name is derived from the world renowned Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, which is the central focus of the design on both sides of the coin. These Austrian silver coins have become a popular choice across Europe and the wider world, offering a legal tender Euro-denomination in silver bullion.

The 1oz silver version of the famous Philharmonics were first issued in 2008, and are struck with a fineness of 999.9 pure silver.

The main image features the pipe organ in the Vienna Musikverein's Golden Hall, and the obverse shows instruments of the Vienna Philharmonic, the horn, bassoon, harp and four violins and a cello.

Classed as legal tender in Austria, the Philharmonic silver coin series is currently the only European bullion coin with a face value in Euros, and they have become the unofficial silver bullion coin of Europe.
