Given the somewhat chaotic nature of Belgium’s history it is unsurprising that its coins are also limited in variety. Over the course of Europe’s violent history Belgium has existed in varying states and not until 1989 did it become a federal kingdom. Below are a further selection of limited and rare Belgian coins that we have in stock.

The coins of Belgium were largely the coins of the ruling country. The most readily available Belgian coins are of the Franc denomination. These typically show Leopold I or Leopold II. In more recent years though Belgium produces ECU coins as part of its membership in the European Economic Community.
