The 2008 Half Ounce American Gold Eagle is an official gold bullion coin of the United States and had an original bullion mintage of 61,000. The obverse design features Augustus Saint-Gaudens' image of Liberty, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The reverse design of the American Gold Eagle is by sculptor Miley Busiek, and features a male Eagle carrying an olive branch flying above a nest.
The US government guarantee the stated amount of actual gold weight in troy ounces. By law, the gold must be sourced from American mines.
Following the changes to international shipping after Brexit, orders to the United States under $500 will be sent with the Royal Mail International Service, while anything between $500-$2,000 will be sent with FedEx. Orders greater than $2,000(up to $40,000) will be sent by UPS.
