2018 marked the 100th anniversary of the formation of the RAF. The series celebrates iconic aircraft from the history of the RAF, with this coin featuring the RAF emblem of an eagle superimposed on a circlet and surmounted by a crown. The text contains the motto of the Royal Air Force, 'Per Ardua Ad Astra’ meaning ‘Through Adversity to the Stars’. Each coin in the series has a limited mintage of only 1,000 coins.
The Two Pound proof gold coin is also known as a Double Sovereign. It contains 14.63 grams of fine gold and is 22 carat purity.
This product is supplied as 'coin only' in a plastic capsule, there is no box or certificate.
Following the changes to international shipping after Brexit, orders to the United States under $500 will be sent with the Royal Mail International Service, while anything between $500-$2,000 will be sent with FedEx. Orders greater than $2,000(up to $40,000) will be sent by UPS.
