Description

An 1884 Half Sovereign from the reign of Queen Victoria. This half sovereign features the young head design by William Wyon on the obverse and the shield design on the reverse.

The lack of mint mark denotes this coin was produced at the London Mint. Approximately 1,121,600 of these Half Sovereign gold coins were produced, making it a fairly common coin.
