In 2016 the Royal Mint produced 3 lots of proof £2 gold coins to celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the death of author William Shakespeare. This is the Comedies coin. This collector's coin is presented in a handsome box with certificate of authentication.

The 2016 Shakespeare Comedies Proof gold £2 coin reverse features a sword and a crown. The obverse features the fifth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, as designed by Jody Clark.

The Two Pound Gold Coin - sometimes referred to as the Double Sovereign - contains 14.63 grams of gold (twice the weight of a Sovereign).

Fully Insured Delivery

Following the changes to international shipping after Brexit, orders to the United States under $500 will be sent with the Royal Mail International Service, while anything between $500-$2,000 will be sent with FedEx. Orders greater than $2,000(up to $40,000) will be sent by UPS.

Delivery is free and fully insured, but there is a 25kg weight limit per parcel. Orders over 1.6kg will be sent via UPS,with a 3-4 day delivery estimate (subject to change due toCovid-19). Royal Mail orders can be upgraded to FedEx for quicker shipping.
