2025 1/2oz Krugerrand Gold Coin

The 2025 1/2oz Krugerrand is a South African gold coin, minted by the Rand Refinery. The weight of the coin is 16.96 grams with a fineness of 916.7 (22 carat gold), this means it contains 15.55 grams of pure gold. The diameter of the coin is 27.07 mm. The 1/2oz Krugerrands are considered legal tender in South Africa, but do not have a face value.

The obverse of the 2025 1/2oz Gold Krugerrand depicts the portrait of Paul Kruger, who was president of the South African Republic from 1883 to 1900.

The inscription on the coin reads 'SUID-AFRICA . SOUTH AFRICA'.

The reverse of the 2025 1/2oz Gold Krugerrand features a springbok, South Africa's national animal. The initials of the engraver, Coert Laurens Steynberg, ‘CLS’, appear on the coin beneath the springbok.
