This is the fourth gold bullion coin issued by the Spanish Royal Mint in what is becoming a very popular series featuring the iconic animals of Spain. The reverse features the Iberian Imperial Eagle, along with the year, face value, Madrid mintmark, and the legend 'ÀGUILA IMPERIAL'. The obverse features two globes, representing the western and eastern hemispheres of the world, both of which are under a crown and flanked on either side by the Pillars of Hercules. It also shows the weight and purity of the coin, along with the legend Felipe VI Rey de España.

The Spanish Imperial Eagle is a large bird of prey native to the Iberian Peninsula. It has a striking appearance with a dark brown body, white shoulders, and a pale head and neck. Known for its powerful build and impressive wingspan, it primarily inhabits open woodlands. The eagle is a symbol of conservation success, having recovered from the brink of extinction through the dedicated efforts of the Spanish government and conservationists.
