The 2008 gold Proof 50p piece featuring the segment of the Royal Shield by Matthew Dent, and the 4th Portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley.

This design featured on the circulating 50p coinage since 2008. The coin looks the same as a modern 50p piece, but it is heavier than the base metal version and contains 14.2 grams of pure gold.
