The Royal Mint did not produce a sovereign in 1973 but there was an Isle of Man Sovereign produced by the Pobjoy Mint. 1973 Proof Gold Isle of Man Sovereign featuring Queen Elizabeth II and a Norse warrior on horseback in provided in a plastic capsule. Proof coins are struck twice to produce a fine detailed finish.
