Description

This gold proof £5 coin (aka quintuple Sovereign, or Crown) was issued in 2009 to celebrate the countdown to London 2012. It was the first of four Countdown coins issued annually by the Royal Mint up until 2012, and 4,000 such proof coins were produced.

The 2009 countdown gold coin was designed by Claire Aldridge BA. It depicts a swimming race, with an overlayed number three to mark how many years until the London Olympics. The reverse is Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Elizabeth II.

This product is supplied as 'coin only' in a plastic capsule. There is no box or certificate.

Fully Insured Delivery

Following the changes to international shipping after Brexit, orders to the United States under $500 will be sent with the Royal Mail International Service, while anything between $500-$2,000 will be sent with FedEx. Orders greater than $2,000(up to $40,000) will be sent by UPS.

Delivery is free and fully insured, but there is a 25kg weight limit per parcel. Orders over 1.6kg will be sent via UPS,with a 3-4 day delivery estimate (subject to change due toCovid-19). Royal Mail orders can be upgraded to FedEx for quicker shipping.
