Description

The 2006 one ounce proof gold Krugerrand. The coin is supplied in an attractive box, complete with certificate of authenticity from the South African Mint. Limited to 2000 coins.

The obverse (front) of the coin depicts former South African president Paul Kruger.

The gold Krugerrand is a 22-carat gold coin. It contains 1oz of pure gold, but the coins actually weigh slightly heavier. A troy ounce is 31.10g and gold Krugerrands are 33.92g weight. This is heavier than most one ounce gold coins because it also features a fractional amount of copper to give it a distinct colour, and as such it’s slightly thicker than 1oz coins which are 24-carat.

These coins are still classed as legal tender by the South African government and are issued by the South African Reserve Bank. They are struck to proof quality by using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks for the striking process.

Fully Insured Delivery

Following the changes to international shipping after Brexit, orders to the United States under $500 will be sent with the Royal Mail International Service, while anything between $500-$2,000 will be sent with FedEx. Orders greater than $2,000(up to $40,000) will be sent by UPS.

Delivery is free and fully insured, but there is a 25kg weight limit per parcel. Orders over 1.6kg will be sent via UPS,with a 3-4 day delivery estimate (subject to change due toCovid-19). Royal Mail orders can be upgraded to FedEx for quicker shipping.
