2023 1/2oz Gold Britannia Coin Queen Elizabeth II

The 2023 Britannia 1/2oz is a British gold coin, minted by the Royal Mint. The weight of the coin is 15.58 grams with a fineness of 999.9 (24 carat gold), this means it contains 15.55174 grams of pure gold. The diameter of the coin is 27 mm. The obverse of the Queen Elizabeth II 2023 Britannia 1/2oz Gold Coin features the fifth head portrait, designed by Jody Clark. This effigy of Queen Elizabeth II shows her profile facing right, wearing the diamond crown. It is the fifth official portrait of Queen Elizabeth II to be used on coins minted by the Royal Mint. The sculptor's initials, ‘J.C’, are visible at the bottom of the head.

The inscription on the coin reads 'ELIZABETH II.D.G.REG.F.D'.

The reverse of the 2023 1/2oz Gold Britannia features the classic figure of Lady Britannia, designed by Philip Nathan, with the text ‘NATHAN’ at the bottom of the coin.
