This collection of UK coins features original illustrations by Jim Kay, the artist who created the first illustrated edition of the story, and shows iconic characters, places, and symbols from the world of Harry Potter.

The reverse design of the coin features Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where Harry and his friends learned magic and faced many of their most memorable challenges. The intricate design shows the imposing castle of Hogwarts.

The 2023 Hogwarts School Fifty Pence proof gold coin is a high-quality proof edition struck in 22 carat (916.7) gold and contains 14.2g of pure gold. It comes in a special presentation box with a certificate of authenticity. The coin has an edge inscription of the school motto that reads ‘DRACO DORMIENS NUNQUAM TITLLANDUS’ (Never Tickle a Sleeping Dragon) and a latent feature that displays both a lightning bolt and the number 25, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the publication of the first Harry Potter book.
