2023 1KG Silver Kookaburra

The Australian Silver Kookaburra series is a collection of silver bullion coins that have been minted by the Perth Mint since 1990. These coins have become increasingly popular with collectors due to their beautiful designs that showcase the wildlife of Australia.

Each year, the Perth Mint releases a new design featuring a depiction of a kookaburra, the 2023 release of the features two Kookaburra birds perched on a Waratah plant. The intricate details in the design capture the essence of these iconic birds, from the textured plumage to the petals of the waratah flower. The design is the work of artist Wade Robinson, who has created several of the previous designs in the series.

On the obverse side of the coin, you will find the Queen Elizabeth II Memorial effigy, created by Jody Clark, depicting the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem and the years of her reign, this is the last time the late Queen will appear on these coins.
