2020 Proof 1oz Silver Britannia Coin Boxed

The 1oz proof Britannia is beautifully finished to proof standard in .999 silver. Designed by David Lawrence, the Proof coin shows Britannia standing confidently next to a lion. The silver coin is presented inside a Royal Mint case with a booklet describing the history of Britannia.

The edge of the coin states its value, as well as the abbreviated latin D G REG F D which, expanded, says Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defensatrix. The direct English translation is 'By the grace of God, Queen' and 'Defender of the Faith' - the latter part being a reference to Elizabeth II's status as head of the Church of England.

The coin features a different design to the traditional 2020 bullion version of the Britannia, continuing the current trend by the Royal Mint of having different designs for their proof coins each year.
